Let me start off by first saying I love PACE; it’s a beautiful program. They appreciate me and I appreciate them.
I joined PACE 2 years ago. I had a stroke in 2015 that has affected my right side. Walking was very hard and I was falling. I was in Van Dyne for rehabilitation and heard of the PACE program. I am doing much better. PACE has given me some equipment that has really helped like my lifeline button, walker, leg braces and a raised toilet seat. I also have an aide to help with some personal care.
I’m 59 years old and I live in my own home with my dog Cookie who is a 9 year old Chihuahua and I tease that he acts like a pit bull. I come into the Day Center 4 days a week. If I were asked to describe myself I’d say I am a person who likes to have fun and talk with people, which I sure can do with the nice people here. The activities are great too. Bingo is my favorite, along with arts and crafts and the Morning News. The PACE program is very good and helpful for me.
